This year being my first year i have decided to work with 2 main bloodlines, these are bill batricks and Barrie shutt's. the plan for this year is to breed the 2 bloodlines seperatley and then use the cock bird i have from Barrie shutt to a batricks hen, this creates half brothers and sisters ready to pair up later on or the next year. I've started my shed off with a shutt opaline grey spangle cock and a opaline light green hen. with batricks bloodline i've used a opaline cinamon sky cock with a opaline grey green hen. theres an obvious problem occuring and that is opaline x opaline gives 100% opalines so my shed has got a lot of opalines in it for a start. this will work nicely next year because i will cull down on opalines and either try and breed some normals with what normals i have or bring in 1 or 2 outcrosses, i will then use the opalines to improve spot on the birds.
